In the 180 days we are in school, we follow a set routine: go to school, come home, and engage in extracurricular activities within a two-mile radius of our homes, over and over again. These invisible confines limit our vision of the world. With school over, travel is one way for us to expand our horizons and recharge our batteries.

A Luxurious Paradise – Dubai: 22-Hour Layover Trip

What is the best way to spend a long layover? Visiting the country’s best attractions not too far from the airport without spending a lot of money! If you organize ahead to prepare for jet lag and set up an itinerary that maximizes your time, sightseeing should not be a problem. My sisters and I have had several stopover tours, but the most impressive was in Dubai.

Inside the World’s Largest Rainforest – The Amazon

The Amazon is the largest rainforest in the world. It stretches across 2.1 million square miles, equating to 70% of the lower 48 states’ area. The forest spans across nine countries: Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.

The Land of Sea, Sand, Sport, and Samba – Brazil

The first country that comes to mind when we think about soccer is probably Brazil, the winner of the FIFA World Cup for an unprecedented five times. It is a country that is not only famous for the ball-kicking sport, but for its carnival extravaganzas, beaches, waterfalls, rainforests, and that it will be hosting this year’s Summer Olympics.

North Vietnam Odyssey

President Barack Obama visited Hanoi, Vietnam in May. This reminded me of the time I visited Vietnam three years ago.

Each summer since I was 2 years old, I have flown with my family to Taiwan to visit my disabled grandmother who lives alone. During these trips, I also have the opportunity to visit and to do charitable work in nearby developing countries.
